Actress Yun-jin Kim, a resident of Hawaii when she was on the TV series “Lost,” is back on the big screen with her release “House of the Disappeared.” The film opened in South Korea on April 5, directed by Dae-woong Lim. The mystery thriller is about a housewife (Kim) who is falsely convicted of murdering her husband. After serving 25 years in prison, she returns home to try to solve the mystery surrounding her husband’s death and the disappearance of her son.
Kim’s last film, “Ode to my Father,” which was released in 2014, has become the second all-time box-office hit in South Korea. In “House,” Taec-yeon Ok from the Korean boy group 2PM plays Priest Choi, who tries to help Kim’s character. Taec-yeon has promised to appear at a fan event wearing his priest robe should the movie sell 2 million tickets. The film has not been scheduled for a U.S. release yet.
